This is a great place for students and teachers to have a quiet place to pray and enjoy the outdoors. Teachers are welcome to use this area for outdoor education as well.
Much of our landscaping and statuary on the property is done by our 8th grade classes as a yearly service project.
Our playground area and play set were installed in early 2005. This was purchased by our Home and School group through our yearly fundraising efforts. In 2014 the Home and School Organization added new fencing as well. Our students love it!
The Verdun Bell Tower is a popular landmark on our campus. It creates such a wonderful sound when the bells are ringing.
In 2008 the baseball/softball field and concession stand was built by our Men’s Club for St. Bernadette and Gross Catholic teams with playground equipment nearby. Stadium lights were added in the fall of 2010. The field can be covered with a tarp when needed and features a special topping which absorbs up to six inches of rain per 24-hour period. Games can then be played the very next day. Construction on a three-level concession stand was completed in the Spring of 2014.
The parish office is located just southwest of our school building in the Rectory basement. There you will find our pastor, religious education director and the parish secretary.
Slightly behind our school is the rectory. The Pastor and assistant reside here.
St. Bernadette students are able to exercise and learn about ways to be healthy and active with a certified P.E. teacher, great equipment, and use of the Gross High School track. The gym floor was newly installed in 2016.
The church is the heart of our building. We have the school and church within the same building. This provides a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to visit throughout the school day!
